PART-TIME/ HOURLY POSITION
REPORTS TO: Sandy Jones
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree or higher in education or related field with a valid Georgia teaching certificate. Highly qualified to teach class assigned as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Availability to work on site during the hours of 4:00 - 8:00PM, Monday through Thursday (2 days a week). 3 years teaching experience and strong technology skills. Ability to relate well to students, parents, and co-workers. Access to a personal computer and reliable internet required.
DUTIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in a Virtual Online Instructional Program in electronic written and oral forms, while using positive interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate operational knowledge of Internet and Web-related technologies.
- Monitor testing of one or more subjects in the school and within the framework of the goals established by the school system; plan and implement appropriate long and short-range objectives for each assigned course.
- Participate in system and local efforts of professional learning; teachers will utilize and implement skills and best practices obtained in professional learning in the classroom to raise the achievement of students.
- Support students with encouragement.
- Utilize time effectively.
- Effectively manage the behavior of learners to ensure the environment is conducive to the learning process and assist in the management of student behavior in other parts of the school and school grounds.
- Work in a self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned; teachers will work collaboratively in horizontal and vertical teams on a frequent basis to review assessment data and modify instruction to improve student achievement.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate student grade records and attendance records.
- Ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student progress and behavior.
- Support and/or participate in school-wide student activities, social events, and fundraisers.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, professional learning, and other training working through the site director and/or curriculum director and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning.
- Meet the performance and behavioral expectations of the site director.
- Perform the staff evaluation process including using Coastal Plains TKES.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
